The premise of Michael Crichton’s 1969 novel The Andromeda Strain (A&E – 9 p.m. and 1 a.m.) has yet to come to pass – that we know of, at least – but hiss premise of a deadly disease outbreak of extraterrestrial origin is as plausible today as when he first thought of the idea.
